LADY PANTHERS WIN HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT in Prestonburg 3 January 2011
The Carroll County Lady Panthers traveled to Prestonburg, Kentucky for the Appalachian Wireless Invitational Holiday Basketball tournament on December 28-30. The team won 4 games in 3 days defeating Elliott County, Prestonburg, Shelby Valley and Menifee County to win the event. The girls all received champion medallions as well a huge championship trophy. Former Lady Panther stars at Campbellsville University 14 December 2010
Whitney Ballinger, a former Carroll County Lady Panther, has done extremely well playing basketball for Campbellsville University. She has broken the school record for most career block shots, and was named NAIA National Player of the Year last season. Her current team is ranked 4th in the country.
